What Happened to Jamaica’s Shelly Ann & USA’s Sha’Carri at the Paris Olympics?

While the country of Saint Lucia is probably still celebrating Julien Alfred’s victory in the women’s 100m race at the 2024 Paris Olympics, some unexpected procedural changes before the contest have added an air of controversy to the event. Video surfaced on social media showing Jamaica’s Shelly Ann Frayser-Pryce and USA’s Sha’Carri Richardson being denied access to an entrance gate to the facility. As a result, Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce ended up dropping out of the race and Sha’Carri Richardson finished in 2nd place.
