‘It’s terrible’: Liberal Senator on the ‘shocking’ Trump assassination attempt

Liberal Senator Dave Sharma has responded to news of an assassination attempt at former US president Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.

A bullet had pierced the upper part of Mr Trump’s right ear.

The former president was evacuated from the site by Secret Service following the gunshots.

“It’s terrible to see this sort of political violence exercised at a rally,” Mr Sharma told Sky News Australia.

“It’s shocking to see.”
