Nick Saban has sent shockwaves throughout the college football world when he announced his retirement after a 12-win season in Tuscaloosa and a CFP semifinal appearance. Their coaching search is reportedly going to have Dan Lanning near the top of their list as they seek his replacement.

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin looks at the possibility of Dan Lanning taking the head coaching vacancy at Alabama. The ramifications for Oregon would be widespread if they had to undergo another coaching search, but they would still be positioned to acquire quality candidates.

Oregon is one of the best jobs in the entire country for a college football coach to be given its resources and brand. Still, the appeal of Alabama would likely supercede that of Oregon for Dan Lanning. He will likely have a decision to make.
