Comedians seek to patch up divisions in Catalonia

Catalonia is still without a leader, even if separatist parties retained their majority in parliament after regional elections on December 21. Wanted in Spain for rebellion and sedition and in self-exile in Brussels, deposed regional president Carles Puigdemont abandoned his bid to lead Catalonia again and has proposed civil society leader Jordi Sanchez as an alternative candidate, even if he is in prison. Meanwhile Catalonia remains under the control of Spain's central government. Faced with this impasse, comedians are attempting to patch up divisions in Spanish society with a strong dose of laughter.<br />
