Hackers, Money and the Mafia. This is the story of the Carbanak Hack, the largest and most astonishing cyber attack the world has ever seen.

In 2014, cybersecurity specialists were alerted about a cyber attack on one of the biggest Russian banks, however, nobody could have guessed that they had just discovered the largest attack on financial institutions to ever be uncovered.

Many describe the events that surround the Carbanak attack as "Hollywoodesque", and this is absolutely correct. The story involves overconfident hackers, an intercontinental manhunt, the breach of the security systems of hundreds of financial institutions, and the robbery of over 1.5 billion US dollars, This is the story of the Carbanak Hack.

27:04 UFO? No. Houses that look like UFOs
The location is in Taiwan and it looks like an abandoned film set for Lost in Space. Dilapidated, ghostly, deserted houses shaped like UFOs. What’s the story behind the spacely ghost town?

World's Most Dangerous Roads: Deadliest Journeys in Ethiopia 2016

Deadliest Roads - Ghana: https://youtu.be/SAf7qC48Dzc

Ethiopia is among the hardest-hit countries in terms of deadly traffic accidents. Trains and trucks circulate along infrastructure from another age. For trucks in the south of the country, the transport of goods and people take place in the rain and on slippery roads… There is, however, no alternative, as flying is too expensive and the trains are no longer in working condition, except one. This one train travels through half of the country, from the city of Dire Dawa to the border at Djibouti. It travels 310 kilometres over the course of more than 10 hours – on a good day. This last known working train is no stranger to derailments and breaks down on a regular basis. It is the oldest but also the most dangerous train in the world! From the Danakil desert to the rainy summits of the Kaffa region, welcome to Ethiopia!

In our modern consumer society, Type 2 diabetes has become a widespread disease. Companies are developing drugs that are increasingly expensive, but not necessarily more effective. Health authorities are powerless.

Diabetes is spreading rapidly, all over the world. The disease destroys lives and puts a strain on public budgets. The UN is calling on governments to take action.

Diabetes is proof that modern societies are incapable of adequately treating chronic disease. It affects around 430 million people worldwide, with two main metabolic disorders falling under the name diabetes. Type 1 is an autoimmune disease that must be treated with lifelong doses of insulin, while type 2 can develop when a person’s diet is too high in fat and sugar and they do not engage in enough physical activity.

With turnover of $46 billion, diabetes is a massive and extremely lucrative market.
Constantly promised miracle cures have not led to satisfactory treatment, with patients either taking too many drugs or no longer being able to afford them. It’s a desperate situation, and the only ones benefiting seem to be pharmaceutical companies.

A medical focus on blood glucose levels has led to an overreliance on medication, sometimes without due concern for dangerous side effects. Patients become trapped in a cycle of treatment, which in many cases still does not halt the disease’s progression. This can lead to amputations, blindness and heart attacks.

And yet there are alternatives that could flatten the curve of the type 2 diabetes epidemic, while reducing health care spending. Improved diet can be a preventative measure, and a strict adherence to diet can also bring about remission in the case of Type 2 diabetes.

But these solutions require effort, as well as a complete rethinking of chronic disease management. Filmed on three continents, this documentary features industry whistleblowers, patients, researchers and medical professionals. It also confronts pharmaceutical companies about their responsibility for the situation.

- It's been brought to my attention that a song used towards the end of the documentary is Hindi - something that might be considered quite inappropriate to play on a documentary featuring Muslims. There's absolutely no disrespect meant by it, I was just too dumb to realize it as I was making this video. My bad.

Mega Transports - Gigantic Overseas Autoliner | Engineering Documentary

World's Most Advanced Supercars: Birth of the Automobile: https://youtu.be/LbD8leFCB-I

A transport to the other side of the globe. The “Höegh Trapper” is the largest automobile transporter in the world. Two hundred meters long, thirty-six meters wide. But the major attraction is actually behind the steel hull: A gigantic cargo area: In total over seventy-one thousand square meters. Enough room for eight-thousand-five-hundred cars. And hundreds of the so-called “High- and Heavies”: Gigantic machines of any kind.
Her journey takes the fully loaded “Trapper” on a journey covering
28,000 kilometers. The starting point: Antwerp in Belgium. Here, Port Captain Per Henningsen has to load 1,000 cars in record time – only 16 hours. Next stop: Bremerhaven, in Germany. Besides 2,000 cars here,
Per has to load 200 high and heavy units – one of which has him
worrying more than usual. He doesn’t know the exact measurements of the mysterious cargo – will it fit into the Trapper? From Bremerhaven, the journey continues to England, France, and Spain, and then out onto the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. From there across the pond to ports in the US and Jamaica, through the Panama Canal onto the Pacific and all the way to New Zealand and Australia…All that in just fifty days! The Panama Canal is the bottleneck of the journey. The canal is over a hundred years old and was designed for the largest ships at that time. Maximum width: 32.3 meters. For behemoths like The Trapper, that’s not enough. Canal authorities began construction on newer, larger lock systems in 2007. Since its opening in 2016, ships belonging to the so-called Neopanamax class can now transit the canal and that includes the Trapper. But even though the new lock chambers are fifty-five meters wide: For the Trapper this means not even ten meters clearance on either side - a special challenge for Captain She and his crew…

The North America was once an uninhabited wilderness where huge herds of big animals roamed. It was only about 15 thousand years ago when the Colombian mamooths, bisons, sabretooth cats and giant ground sloths lived here. After that, the climate change and human hunters caused the extinction of most of the big mammals. Only a few species survived in the harsh deserts of Southwestern USA and Northern Mexico until recent days. Today the deserts are not shaking under the hoofs of thousands of herbivores, but some animals which lived in that age are still present here. It is estimated that around 25 million years ago one particular group of vipers started to thrive in North America and they still dominate this continent. The rattlesnakes. After millions of years of evolution they attained body structures which allowed them to become the most successful venomous snakes in this part of the world.

Enter the world of an undertaker whose family for three generations has cared for both the living and the dead in a small Michigan town, as families navigate loss, grief and mortality. (Aired 2007)

This journalism is made possible by viewers like you. Support your local PBS station here: http://www.pbs.org/donate.

Thomas Lynch is a writer and a poet. He's also a funeral director in a small town in central Michigan where he and his family have cared for the dead -- and the living -- for three generations. Moving and powerful, the 2007 documentary “The Undertaking” chronicles the intimate stories of families confronting loss, and the role of funeral rituals in helping them come to terms with their loved ones’ deaths.

"Funerals are the way we close the gap between the death that happens and the death that matters," Lynch says in the documentary. "A good funeral gets the dead where they need to go and the living where they need to be."

With the six powerful engines, loads of up to 250 tons are no problem for the Antonov An-225. The plane was originally intended to take the Soviet Buran space shuttle back from its landing site to the Baikonur spaceport in Kazakhstan. After the end of the space program, Antonov Airlines converted the An-225 into a cargo plane. The next order: the transport of twelve electrical transformers from Chile across the Andes to Bolivia with twelve flights in just four weeks.

Nomads in Mongolia have always had an intimate relationship with wolves, and travelled with the wild canines. But as the Mongolian economy has boomed drastically, a dilemma is imposed upon the nomads; maintain their relationships with nature, or cave in to the overwhelming force of the economy.

Faced with the conundrum is a shepherd Purevjav. Wolves have been killing his livestock to feed themselves, and Purevjav is well aware of the value the wolves’ pelts hold if exported. To sustain his family, Purevjav is pressed to hunt the pack of wolves he considers scared.

Sex work is a way of life for thousands of women in marginalized communities in certain parts of rural India. For many, it is the only way to make money - also due to the Indian caste system and centuries-old prejudices which make it difficult for the families to escape poverty. But winds of change are blowing.

In certain Indian villages, sex work is, in a sense, inherited. Mothers and grandmothers have already worked in the same trade. In the past, they mostly belonged to ethnic groups that worked mainly as performers. The British colonial power criminalized them, and to this day it is especially difficult for the men of these ethnic groups to find regular jobs. Therefore, the female members of the family are often the breadwinners. They are the ones who take out loans, build houses, make important decisions, which is otherwise rare in India. Our reporters Akanksha Saxena and Neerat Kaur looked around the villages - and found signs of hope: The young generation is trying to leave this sad tradition behind and fight for better education and rights.

Wild Congo - Part 1: River of Monsters | Wildlife Documentary

Watch 'Wild Congo - Part 2' here: https://youtu.be/SOVaFcSATEc

As measured by its huge mass of water the Congo is the second largest river in the world, surrounded by tropical rain forest and fed by countless tributaries in an enormous watershed area in the heart of Africa. The locals call it the river that swallows rivers. As a small trickle in the north of Zambia begins its journey to the west over rapids and waterfalls until it finally pours as 40 km wide estuary into the Atlantic Ocean. Evolution and extreme conditions have created unique beings here. Fishes with lungs, wings or those that go hunting on land. The strange shoebill lurks in the vastness of the papyrus marsh, swarms of fruit bats darken the sky, meter-long pythons hunt in trees, chimpanzees populate the forests and hippopotamus bulls fight for power in the water. Exceptional shots provide insights into one of the most mysterious and dangerous regions of our planet.
