Stereoscopic photography rapidly became a worldwide craze after the Great Exhibition of 1851. Cheap viewers and mass-produced stereographs brought startlingly vivid images within reach of a mass audience, making this the form in which most people first encountered photography a fact largely ignored in conventional photographic history.

Like the commercial suppliers of Magic Lantern slides, stereograph publishers offered systematic coverage of many subjects, even claiming that to visit remote countries by stereo was better than risking the journey.

In their lecture, “Women’s Participation in Food Justice: Developing Transnational Solidarity," MTSO Assistant Professor of Theology, Ecology and Race Elaine Nogueira-Godsey and Ohio State University doctoral student Kelsey Ryan-Simkins offers actions those in North America can take in solidarity with those who struggle with food injustice.

Inspired by the exhibition, "Ancient Nubia Now," this panel discussion explores how shifting conceptions of the ancient African past have informed contemporary notions of cultural identity from a variety of perspectives.

One-third of the pledged delegates for the party’s presidential nomination are up for grabs. After winning the South Carolina primary, former vice president Joe Biden is seeking to turn the nominating contest into a two-person race against Sen. Former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg will appear on the ballot for the first time Tuesday, after spending half a billion dollars on his campaign. Also competing in the Super Tuesday contests are Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.) and Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (Hawaii). Former South Bend, Ind., mayor Pete Buttigieg and investor Tom Steyer dropped out of the race over the weekend after disappointing showings in South Carolina.
