Ghazal is a poetic form rather than a musical genre because the text of a Ghazal may be composed in any number of musical styles. It can be sung in a classical format with minimal musical accompaniment or it can be arranged to be sung with an orchestra. The words of many great ghazals have also been used as film songs. It is one of the oldest forms of poetry that is still being written and sung. Its origins are in the Arabic language from where it made its way into Farsi (Persian) and, eventually, to Urdu. A Ghazal consists of rhyming couplets which may or may not be thematically linked. Ghazals usually follow the themes of love and loss and the poetry is always in a male persona, (the devoted lover), writing from his viewpoint and describing the wiles and coquetry of an uncaring female, (the heartless beloved.)
Occasionally, ghazals also follow a theme of an initial hope and joy that comes from a new love, such as this ghazal by the Indian poet Bashir Badr, (born 1935), in which the poet likens his beloved to life itself saying that all his wishes have now been fulfilled and he seeks nothing more from life. He compares himself to a darkened earth and says his beloved is like a moon-lit sky. This ghazal was originally composed and popularised by India’s legendary ghazal singer Jagjit Singh (1941 – 2011).
Singer Kavya Limaye captures the inner mysteries of “Asia Lagta Hai,” one of 12 ghazals (lyric poetry) arranged by violinist Deepak Pandit for this thrilling collaboration with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. Sufiscore is proud to present this video, filmed in historic Budapest, as part of its mission to promote new musical fusions and collaborations across genres and traditions.

Disscuss/Review The Blue Danube Waltz at https://classicalmusiconly.com..../work/johann-strauss
Title : Johann Strauss II , The Blue Danube Waltz
Date : 1867
From Wikipedia,The Blue Danube is the common English title of An der schönen blauen Donau op. 314 (On the Beautiful Blue Danube), a waltz by Johann Strauss II, composed in 1867. Originally performed 9 February 1867 at a concert of the Wiener Männergesangsverein (Vienna Men's Choral Association), it has been one of the most consistently popular pieces of music in the classical repertoire. Its initial performance was only a mild success, however, and Strauss is reputed to have said "The devil take the waltz, my only regret is for the coda -- I wish that had been a success!"
The waltz originally had an accompanying song text written by Josef Weyl. Strauss adapted it into a purely orchestral version for the World's Fair in Paris that same year, and it became a great success in this form. The instrumental version is by far the most commonly performed today. An alternate text by Franz von Gernerth, Donau so blau (Danube so blue), is also used on occasion.
The sentimental Viennese connotations of the piece have made it into a sort of unofficial Austrian national anthem. It is a traditional encore piece at the annual Vienna New Year's Concert. The first few bars are also the interval signal of Osterreich Rundfunk's overseas programs.
It is reported by composer Norman Lloyd in his "Golden Encyclopedia of Music" that when asked by Frau Strauss for an autograph, the composer Johannes Brahms autographed Mrs. Strauss's fan by writing on it the first few bars of the Blue Danube. Under it he wrote "Unfortunately not by Johannes Brahms".The work commences with an extended introduction in the key of A major with shimmering (tremolo) violins and a French horn spelling out the familiar waltz theme, answered by staccato wind chords, in a subdued mood. It rises briefly into a loud passage but quickly dies down into the same restful nature of the opening bars. A contrasting and quick phrase in D major anticipates the waltz before 3 quiet downward-moving bass notes "usher in" the first principal waltz melody.
The first waltz theme is familiar gently rising triad motif in cellos and horns in the tonic D major, accompanied by harps; the Viennese waltz beat is accentuated at the end of each 3-note phrase. The Waltz 1A triumphantly ends its rounds of the motif, and waltz 1B follows in the same key; the genial mood is still apparent.
Waltz 2A glides in quietly (still in D major) before a short contrasting middle section in B flat major. The entire section is repeated.
A more dour waltz 3A is introduced in G major before a fleeting eighth-note melodic phrase (waltz 3B). An loud Intrada (introduction) is then played. Waltz 4A starts off in a romantic mood (F major) before a more joyous waltz 4B in the same key.
After another short Intrada in A, cadencing in F-sharp minor, sonorous clarinets spell out the poignant melody of waltz 5A in A. Waltz 5B is the climax, punctuated by cymbal crashes. Each of these may be repeated at the discretion of the performer.
The coda recalls earlier sections (3A and 2A) before furious chords usher in a recap of the romantic Waltz 4A. The idyll is cut short as the waltz hurries back to the famous waltz theme 1A again. This statement is cut short, however, by the final codetta: a variation of 1A is presented, connecting to a rushing eighth-note passage in the final few bars: repeated tonic chords underlined by a snare drumroll and a bright-sounding flourish.

An instrument in evolution, today's French horn bears little resemblance to the horns of the past. Even before it was first used in classical music, the horn was frequently found in religious ceremonies as a useful way of calling people to prayer, and of course played a vital role on the hunting field. Since then, the instrument has undergone vast transformation, the most important being the addition of valves, allowing players access to all notes rather than just the natural ones. Its first recorded usage comes around the end of the 16th century, when Cavalli's opera Le nozze di Teti e di Peleo calls for a 'chiamata alla caccia'. However, it did not appear as a solo concerto instrument until years later; one of the first examples is an anonymous Sonata da caccia, included on this release, with the horn playing hunt-like motives in a concertante relationship alongside strings and continuo.
The Baroque period saw a flurry of composers adding horn concertos to their repertoire, often in a group with other instruments. Telemann wrote several concertos and overtures that feature the horn. His Italian contemporary Vivaldi wrote two concertos for two horns, the second of which features here. Other lesser-known composers are also represented: the horn player Peter Damm has discovered and now champions neglected pieces for the horn repertoire, including concertos by Peter Johann Fick and Christoph Förster, who were both active in the first half of the 18th century. Their German contemporaries include Johann Friedrich Fasch, Johann David Heinichen and Johann Joachim Quantz, all of whom wrote a great quantity of horn music. Jan Dismas Zelenka, a Bohemian composer active in the same period, would later be championed by Smetana. His Caprice in F for two horns includes some playful writing between the two solo instruments.

Claude Debussy (22 August 1862 – 25 March 1918) was a French composer. He is sometimes seen as the first Impressionist composer, although he vigorously rejected the term. He was among the most influential composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Born to a family of modest means and little cultural involvement, Debussy showed enough musical talent to be admitted at the age of ten to France's leading music college, the Conservatoire de Paris. He originally studied the piano, but found his vocation in innovative composition, despite the disapproval of the Conservatoire's conservative professors. He took many years to develop his mature style, and was nearly 40 when he achieved international fame in 1902 with the only opera he completed, Pelléas et Mélisande.
Debussy's orchestral works include Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (1894), Nocturnes (1897–1899) and Images (1905–1912). His music was to a considerable extent a reaction against Wagner and the German musical tradition. He regarded the classical symphony as obsolete and sought an alternative in his "symphonic sketches", La mer (1903–1905). His piano works include two books of Préludes and two of Études. Throughout his career he wrote mélodies based on a wide variety of poetry, including his own. He was greatly influenced by the Symbolist poetic movement of the later 19th century. A small number of works, including the early La Damoiselle élue and the late Le Martyre de saint Sébastien have important parts for chorus. In his final years, he focused on chamber music, completing three of six planned sonatas for different combinations of instruments.
With early influences including Russian and far-eastern music, Debussy developed his own style of harmony and orchestral colouring, derided – and unsuccessfully resisted – by much of the musical establishment of the day. His works have strongly influenced a wide range of composers including Béla Bartók, Olivier Messiaen, George Benjamin, and the jazz pianist and composer Bill Evans. Debussy died from cancer at his home in Paris at the age of 55 after a composing career of a little more than 30 years.

Disclaimer: This piece is also known as Mariage D'amour by Paul de Senneville. ''Chopin - Spring Waltz'' is just a pseudonym. Chopin hasn't written this piece. I uploaded this piece when I, just like you, didn't know the truth that this piece is not by Chopin! But... Unfortunately, if I'll change the name of this video to the correct one, other videos with name "Chopin Spring Waltz" will rise on top(there's hundreds of them!), so I put this disclaimer on top of description of the most popular video. I truly didn't want to pour misinformation around. I'm genuinely sorry for inconveniences it caused to you... :(

Composer: Erik Satie
Artists: Håkon Austbö (piano)
The unconventional French composer Erik Satie almost wrote anti-music. In slow motion (and without bars) his well-known Gymnopédies glide past. In other pieces one can hear more than faint echoes form the vaudeville theatre. Played by Håkon Austbø.
